Board of Directors
The Bloomingdale School District 13 Education Foundation operates independently from the District 13 Board of Education and the PTO organizations. The Directors are volunteers and receive no compensation.


Michael Hovde, Jr. Michael Hovde, Jr. - Chairperson
Michael D. Hovde, Jr. is a partner in the law firm of Hovde & Tufo, PC, located in Old Town Bloomingdale. He was raised in Bloomingdale and is a graduate of District 13 Schools. He has been a member of the Foundation since its inception in 1998. Mike resides in Bloomingdale with his wife Jackie, two children and two dogs.

Jerry Gordon - Vice Chairperson
Jerry Gordon spent twenty-five years as an administrator in Bloomingdale School District 13, his last eighteen as superintendent. Jerry retired from School District 13 in July of 2003. He sits on the following not-for-profit boards: DuPage Area Project, Board of Directors, 1990-, President, 1992-96; Bloomingdale CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition - 1998-, Chairperson 1998-00; Abraham Lincoln Center for Character Development Board of Directors, 2003-, Chairperson 2005-; and Bloomingdale School District 13 Education Foundation Board of Directors, 2005-, Vice Chairperson, 2005-. He and his wife, Judy, have lived in Bloomingdale for twenty-five years. He currently enjoys traveling, golf, reading, gardening, cooking, and his volunteer activities.
 

Mike Woodman Mike Woodman - Secretary
Mike Woodman is a Market Development Specialist for Agilent Technologies, promoting various scientific instruments and techniques for use in chemical analysis. He has worked in this general field for 30 years. He and his wife Julee have lived in Bloomingdale since 1996 and have two children in the District 13 schools. They are active in a variety of volunteer roles in the District 13 school community.

Branka Poplonski - Treasurer
Branka Poplonski is one of the founding members of the Bloomingdale School District 13 Foundation and is the Foundation Treasurer. She has been a resident of Bloomingdale since 1975. She is a Realty Consultant with Century 21 Lullo in Bloomingdale. She has served three terms as President of the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce and has been a Board member for 15 years. She also served on the Library Board for 10 years and has been elected as a Township Precinct Committee member several times. She is currently active in the Illinois Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club, the National Association of Realtors, the Chicago Council for Foreign Affairs, the Slovenian Cultural Club in Lemont, the Catholic Women's Club at St. Isidor and is a Board member and Director of Advantage National Bank. She and her husband Stan have twin boys - both graduates of District 13 and Lake Park High School and currently attend Northern Illinois University.
Branka Poplonski

Mark Dwyer Mark Dwyer - District 13 Administrator Liaison
Mark Dwyer is the principal of DuJardin School in Bloomingdale. Mark has been with District 13 for the past fifteen years. During his years in the district Mark has taught 4th, 5th and 6th grade and was the assistant principal for three years at Erickson Elementary. He resides in Bloomingdale with his wife and two daughters.

Linda Wojcicki - District 13 Board of Education Liaison
Linda Wojcicki has been in Bloomingdale School District 13 since 1985 with three children attending. She has been active in the DuJardin Elementary School PTO, serving two years as Vice President and two years as President. She also served as President of the Westfield Middle School STP for two years. In 1999, when her term on the DuJardin PTO was finished, she was elected to the Board of Education and is currently the Board Secretary. She plans to run for a third term. She is the Board Liaison on the Bloomingdale Character Counts! Coalition and the Bloomingdale School District 13 Education Foundation.

Toni Burke Toni Burke - Member at Large
Toni Buhrke is one of the founding board members, elected in 1997 when the Education Foundation was created. She currently serves as the Public Relations Chair and is active in promoting the foundation within the community. Toni has lived in Bloomingdale since 1994 with Chris and three daughters: Kristin, Kaitlin, and Anneliese, all of which are School District 13 students. She was once a viola player for the DuPage Symphony Orchestra, and also served on their board for three years. Toni has worked in the IT industry for 15 years and participates in a number of volunteer activities in addition to serving on the foundation board.

Amy Coladipietro - Member at Large
Amy Coladipietro resides in Bloomingdale with her husband, Franco and two children, Alyssa and Joey. She taught middle school math and science in Arlington Heights for 8 years before having children. While at South Middle School, she was a team leader and science olympiad coach. She also coached poms at Prospect High School in Mount Prospect.
 

Carol Glab - Member at Large
Carol Glab is a secretary for the Assessment Department at Schaumburg School District 54. Carol and her husband John have lived in Bloomingdale since 1994 with their two sons, John Paul and Adam. Both boys attended District 13 schools and have moved onto Lake Park High School. Carol has been very active in a variety of volunteer roles in the District 13 community.

Nanci Greene - Member at Large
Nanci Greene is the Technology Coordinator for Bloomingdale School District 13. In that role, she oversees the District network, installs hardware and software for staff and student use, trains staff in various aspects of technology, and is the webmaster for the District website. In addition, she is involved in the Westfield Middle Music and Drama Programs as piano accompanist for the middle school choir, band solo contests and spring musical. Nanci and her husband, Bill, reside in Lombard and have two daughters.

Betsy Niemiec - Member at Large
Betsy Niemiec has been the Reading Specialist for Erickson Elementary School for 16 years. She works with students from Kindergarten through Grade Five. She is also a part-time professor at National Louis University, where she is working on her PhD in Reading and Language. She and her husband, John, live in Oak Park and have three grown children.

Cyndi Rynning Cyndi Rynning - Member at Large
Cindy Rynning has been the Early Childhood teacher in Bloomingdale School District 13 since 1997. She holds a B.A. in Education from the University of Richmond in Virginia and a M.S.L.S. from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She is a current member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Civic activities have included membership and leadership roles in the Richmond (VA) Symphony Chorus, the Women's Auxiliary of the Medical College of Virginia, The Wheaton Junior Women's Club, Women's Auxiliary of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the American Association of Law Libraries. She has participated in several musical productions of the Raleigh (NC) Little Theatre and the Chicagoland Theatrical Troupe. She and her husband, Larry, live in Wheaton and have three daughters.
