Bloomingdale Education Foundation
Texas Hold 'em Fundraising Tournament

The location, time, and format for the Bloomingdale Education Foundation Texas Hold 'Em Tournament scheduled for Saturday, April 25th have changed.

The Texas Hold 'Em tournament has moved from the Shiraz Restaurant to the Hilton Resort at Indian Lakes (on the same property) in Bloomingdale. The tournament will begin with a 2:00pm registration for a "Big Stack" tournament that has a $120 buy-in. You will receive $11,000 in chips and the blinds will begin at $25/$50 and double every 20 mins. This tournament will begin at approximately 2:30. There will be additional smaller buy-in tournaments throughout the day and evening if you are interested. This location, time, and format change will allow for more players than had originally registered.

Mission
The Bloomingdale School District 13 Education Foundation is a non-profit, independent tax-exempt corporation, founded in 1998, to provide special opportunities and experiences for the children and staff of our district. Long term, the community cannot rely solely on traditional funding to ensure quality public education; private, supplemental support is required. The Foundation will raise and channel donations for creative and innovative projects that will benefit District 13.

Goals
The Foundation will achieve its mission by supporting the following goals:

  • Promoting optimum student development and learning opportunities.
  • Encouraging excellence through support of district teachers and staff.
  • Encouraging school / community collaboration and partnerships.
  • Providing resources to supplement and enhance existing educational programs.

The Foundation intends:

  • To support educational excellence in core academic areas, the arts and humanities, and sciences and technology.
  • To provide programs which meet unique needs.
  • To facilitate academic and skill development.
  • To encourage educational excellence through creative teaching by:
    • Supporting professional growth for all staff.
    • Providing resources for creative teaching ideas and programs.
  • To promote business, school and community partnerships through:
    • Promotion and increased awareness of our school programs and needs.
    • Providing an organization to facilitate cooperative ventures among the Foundation, community groups and schools.
